Commander, Navy Recruiting Command visits NTAG San Antonio Sailors

Dennis Velez, commander, Navy Recruiting Command (NRC), joined by Command Master Chief Rick Moreyra, and National Chief Recruiter Master Chief Navy Counselor Heather Charara, speak via video conference to more than 220 Sailors and support personnel assigned to Navy Talent Acquisition Group San Antonio during an All Hands Call at NTAG headquarters.

Central and South Texas educators and counselors, along with support personnel from Navy Recruiting District San Antonio, toured the Freedom-class littoral combat ship, USS FORT WORTH (LCS 3) during the NRD’s annual Educator Orientation Visit July 11. The EOV is a Navy Recruiting Command (NRC) program with a main focus of showing educators the various facets of America’s Navy and the many career paths available to students.

Petty Officer 2nd Class Clifton Murray, a guitarist with the “Destroyers,” the popular music group of Navy Band Southwest from San Diego, performs for students of Smithson Valley High School during Fiesta San Antonio 2018. The “Destroyers,” along with Sailors from Navy Recruiting District San Antonio, visited the school to conduct community outreach and spread Navy Awareness through Navy Recruiting Command’s Music for Recruiting program.

Educators from South Texas on the flight deck of the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) during Navy Recruiting District San Antonio’s annual Educators Orientation Visit, or EOV.  The EOV is a Navy Recruiting Command program with a main focus of showing educators the various facets of the Navy and the many career paths available to students. The group visited Naval Base San Diego, Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron THREE FIVE (HSM-35), BUD/S (Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL) Training at Naval Amphibious Base Coronado, the Pacific Beacon Navy Billeting, the Fleet Readiness Center, Coastal Riverine Group ONE, and the Navy Exchange.
