Joint Base San Antonio firefighters spent the morning with wounded service members at the Center for the Intrepid at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston participating in physical fitness and sports activities May 10. This is the ninth year the firefighters have organized the annual event to show their appreciation for the service and sacrifices the military members have made to our nation. After the sporting events, the firefighters prepared a barbecue lunch for the warriors and CFI
staff.

A myoelectric-controlled prosthesis is an externally powered artificial limb that the user controls with electrical signals generated naturally with his own muscles.

Members of the San Antonio Spurs take on injured service members in a friendly game of wheelchair basketball at Brooke Army Medical Center's Center for the Intrepid, Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston, Oct. 1. The Spurs also toured the state-of-the-art CFI rehab facility before the game. The CFI provides rehabilitation for military members who have sustained amputation, burns or functional limb loss.

Colbath is one of eight people who were brought to Brooke Army Medical Center with multiple gunshot wounds inflicted by a lone gunman in Sutherland Springs, Texas on Nov. 5, 2017. He is currently rehabilitating from his injuries at the CFI.
