Controlled burn rids JBSA-Camp Bullis of wildfire-causing vegetation

A firefighter sets fire to vegetation at Joint Base San Antonio-Camp Bullis during a controlled burn Feb. 23. Firefighters burned more than 600 acres of vegetation at the installation during a three-day period, from Feb. 22-24, in an effort to prevent wildfires from occurring. The controlled burn was a joint effort between the 502nd Civil Engineering Squadron at JBSA, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, JBSA Fire Emergency Services and area firefighters.
