AMEDD Center & School getting a new name

The graphic for the redesignation ceremony planned for Sept. 16, at which the AMEDDC&S HRCoE will change its name to the U.S. Army Medical Center of Excellence, or MEDCoE, depicts the current logo being peeled away, revealing a very small portion of the new MEDCoE logo bearing the new name. The new logo, just like the current logo bears the distinctive unit insignia, or crest, that was originally approved for the U.S. Army Medical Field Service School June 17, 1965. It was redesignated for the Academy of Health Sciences and amended to revise the symbolism Feb. 20, 1973, extending authorization of wear to personnel of the AMEDDC&S Jan. 5, 1993. The crest is adorned with a motto that reads “To Conserve the Fighting.” The new MEDCoE logo also bears U.S. Army and U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command insignias.

Army Medicine Civilian Corps celebrates 21st birthday

Mr. Charles G. (Gregg) Stevens, SES, Army Medicine Civilian Corps Chief, along with some of the longest serving members of the Civilian Corps, cut a cake celebrating the 21st anniversary of the corps. The Army Medical Department Civilian Corps was established on March 26, 1996.
