August 29, 2019
The graphic for the redesignation ceremony planned for Sept. 16, at which the AMEDDC&S HRCoE will change its name to the U.S. Army Medical Center of Excellence, or MEDCoE, depicts the current logo being peeled away, revealing a very small portion of the new MEDCoE logo bearing the new name. The new logo, just like the current logo bears the distinctive unit insignia, or crest, that was originally approved for the U.S. Army Medical Field Service School June 17, 1965. It was redesignated for the Academy of Health Sciences and amended to revise the symbolism Feb. 20, 1973, extending authorization of wear to personnel of the AMEDDC&S Jan. 5, 1993. The crest is adorned with a motto that reads “To Conserve the Fighting.” The new MEDCoE logo also bears U.S. Army and U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command insignias.
