SAWS issues "Voluntary Boil Water Notice" for San Antonio
February 18, 2021 — The San Antonio Water System has issued a “Voluntary Boil Water Notice” for water used for drinking, cooking and ice making as a precautionary measure due to the large number of broken pipes and low water pressure in the region. To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and ice making should be boiled and cooled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes. The water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes.
