Air Force Band of the West brings musical mission to Puerto Rico

The United States Air Force Band of the West, from Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, perform at Jardin Urbano de Isla Verde in Carolina, Puerto Rico, April 5, 2019 as part of a series of performances and masterclasses around the island featuring multiple Band of the West ensembles. The USAF Band of the West are touring the island of Puerto Rico to tell the Air Force's story through live music and to continue building relationships with Puerto Rican communities during concerts. Military trailblazer speaks at Breaking Barriers event

Jeannie Leavitt, commander of Air Force Recruiting Service, speaks to youth attendees at the Breaking Barriers event April 10, 2019, in the Fleenor Auditorium, Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph. The purpose of this event was to provide an opportunity for the JBSA community to hear, ask questions and learn from a leader like Brig. Gen. Leavitt as she shares her story as the first female fighter pilot and the first woman to command an Air Force combat fighter wing and talks about effective leadership practices in the Air Force.
