Army South, Combined Arms Support Command discuss logistics modernization with Peruvian Army

Maj. Gen. Operation Chavin de Huantar was a Peruvian military operation ended the 1997 Japanese embassy hostage crisis by raiding the Japanese ambassador's residence and freeing the hostages held there by the terrorist organization Tupac Amaru Revolutionary Movement and is considered one of the most successful hostage rescues in the world. Six CASCOM and ARSOUTH members visited the Peruvian Army to assist in modernizing their logistics doctrine and programs to better support future operational requirements.
