September 25, 2024 — The Pilot for a Day program is usually a community outreach initiative conducted by various military bases across the U.S. that offers children with serious illnesses a day of excitement and distraction from their medical challenges by giving them an opportunity to tour military facilities, interact with service members, and engage in activities that simulate the experience of being a pilot.
