Donnell Dawson (right), Joint Base San Antonio Family Life lead program educator, conducted and was the instructor for the “Social Media Safety and Bullying” workshop held at the JBSA-Fort Sam Houston Vogel Resiliency Center July 16. The workshop focused on skills and strategies parents can utilize in protecting their children from dangers posed by social media and online bullying. Joining Dawson are two parents who attended the workshop, Geremy and James Chavez.

Vogel Resiliency Center opens to help JBSA community

Military, community and family members cut the ribbon to officially open the Vogel Resiliency Center Jan. 5. Pictured, from left, are Air Force Brig. Gen. Heather Pringle, commander, 502nd Air Base and Joint Base San Antonio; Army Brig. Gen. Jeffrey Johnson, commander, Brooke Army Medical Center; Rear Adm. Rebecca McCormick-Boyle, commander, Navy Medicine Education and Training Command; Army Lt. Gen. Jeffrey S. Buchanan, commander, U.S. Army North (Fifth Army): Army Lt. Gen. Nadja West, U.S. Army Surgeon General and commander, US. Army Medicine; San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg, Sue Orosz, and Acting Assistant of the Army for Manpower and Reserve Affairs Raymond Horoho. The Vogel Resiliency Center brings together eight entities of resiliency services to one location. This facility is unique to Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston and unique in the Army. The Vogel Resiliency Center is in building 367 located at the corner of Stanley and Reynolds Roads.
