Mission and Installation Contracting Command welcomes new commander

Brig. Gen. Christine Beeler receives the Mission and Installation Contracting Command colors from Maj. Gen. Paul Pardew during a change-of-command ceremony July 9 at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston. Beeler assumed command from Brig. Gen. Bill Boruff, who departs for his next assignment at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. Officiating the ceremony was Pardew, the commanding general for the Army Contracting Command at Redstone Arsenal. The MICC is a subordinate command to ACC.

Armed Forces River Parade highlights ties to military families, community

Military members from Joint Base San Antonio enjoy the festivities at the Arneson River Theater during the annual Armed Forces River Parade May 18 in downtown San Antonio. This year's theme was "Salute Our Heroes." The parade promotes awareness of the joint presence and ties to the military families and community. Representing the U.S. Army in this year's parade were Brig. Gen. Bill Boruff, Mission and Installation Contracting Command commanding general; MICC Command Sgt. Maj. Marcos Torres, and Capt. Jim Jimenez, aide de camp for the MICC commanding general.

Military takes part in Fiesta Media Day

Brig. Gen. Bill Boruff speaks with Chris Duel of Ticket 760 AM during Fiesta San Antonio media day March 27 at the Pearl Stable in San Antonio. The U.S. Army in San Antonio serves as the military coordinator for Fiesta this year. Brig. Gen. Bill Boruff took part in this morning's media event on behalf of Lt. Gen. Jeffrey Buchanan, the Army North  commanding general. Boruff is the commanding general for the Mission and Installation Contracting Command at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston. The 128th Fiesta San Antonio takes place April 18-28 and includes more than 100 events that showcase San Antonio's rich multicultural heritage. Fiesta began in 1891 to honor the heroes of the Battles of the Alamo and San Jacinto. Two service members representing each military service serve as military ambassadors and take part in more than 50 Fiesta events.

Army officials name next MICC leader

The Army chief of staff announced Feb. 19 that Col. Christine A. Beeler will assume command of the Mission and Installation Contracting Command from Brig. Gen. Bill Boruff in a ceremony July 9 at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston.

More than 60 leaders from the MICC headquarters and its subordinate organizations throughout the country are participating in the ALTE. Boruff is the MICC commanding general.
