JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-FORT SAM HOUSTON – (Feb. 13, 2024) – U.S. Navy Lt. Zainob Andu, of Chicago, a regional logistician and assistant deputy chief of staff for logistics, assigned to Naval Medical Forces Support Command (NMFSC), briefs Lt. Cmdr. Wesley Poirier, deputy chief of staff for logistics, on the scheduled Medical Inspector General Inspection at NNFSC headquarters. Zainob, who was commissioned through the Medical Service Corps In-service Procurement Program, is a representation of the highly professional and diverse active-duty workforce within the Department of the Navy. NMFSC develops and delivers integrated education and training that produces operational medical experts to project Medical Power in support of Naval Superiority. Commander, Naval Medical Research Command, holds Navy Medical R&D Enterprise All Hands at JBSA-Fort Sam Houston

JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-FORT SAM HOUSTON – (Feb. 8, 2024) – Capt. Franca Jones, commander, Naval Medical Research Command (NMRC), held a NMRC Enterprise All Hands at the Military and Family Readiness Center during her visit to Naval Medical Research Unit (NAMRU) San Antonio. Jones spoke on numerous topics including the National Defense Authorization Act, the recent Deputy Secretary of Defense Memorandum, and the research and development relationship with the Defense Health Agency. NAMRU San Antonio’s mission is to conduct gap driven combat casualty care, craniofacial, and directed energy research to improve survival, operational readiness, and safety of Department of Defense personnel engaged in routine and expeditionary operations. The Naval Medical Research and Development (NMR&D) enterprise is comprised of eight commands with more than 1,330 Navy Medicine personnel.
