Halloween will come early this year
to the Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph community.
Because
Joint Base San Antonio will present the 2015 Air Show and Open House Oct.
31-Nov. 1 at JBSA-Randolph, Halloween events are planned for Thursday.
The
902nd Security Forces Squadron’s Pumpkin Patrol from 5-8 p.m. Thursday will use
mobile and foot patrols to focus on the safety of trick-or-treaters who will
visit the location’s housing areas.
“Our
goal is to ensure that trick-or-treaters are safe and make drivers aware that
trick-or-treaters will be out and about,” Tech. Sgt. Mark Fox, 902nd SFS NCO in
charge of police services, said.
Anyone
wanting to volunteer for the Pumpkin Patrol can contact Tech Sgt. Fox at
652-1645 before Oct. 27.

Youth Programs’ Fall Hi-Jinx, scheduled from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday at
building 585, will give families another Halloween option with a free carnival
that includes a costume contest, games, prizes and treats.
“Fall
Hi-Jinx was designed with the family in mind,” Andrea Black, 502nd Force
Support Squadron youth programs coordinator, said. “It was developed in the
wake of 9/11. Air Force Youth Programs wanted to ensure military families and
their children had a safe and friendly alternative to trick or treating.”
