Deborah Lee James is the Secretary of the Air Force, Washington, D.C. She is the 23rd Secretary of the Air Force and is responsible for the affairs of the Department of the Air Force, including the organizing, training, equipping and providing for the welfare of its more than 690,000 active duty, Guard, Reserve and civilian Airmen and their families.

CANNON AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. – Deborah Lee James was confirmed as the 23rd Secretary of the Air Force Dec. 13, and sworn-in Dec. 20. In the video, James gives her first remarks as secretary about what Airmen and their families can expect from her in the future.

James is responsible for the affairs of the Department of the Air Force, including the organizing, training, equipping and providing for the welfare of its more than 690,000 active-duty, Guard, Reserve and civilian Airmen and their families.
