Forever Stamp
The new "Forever" postage stamp is now available at the post office on Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. The cost of mailing a standard letter, typically weighing in at 1 ounce, increased two cents, to 41 cents, on May 14. The Forever stamp, however, offers patrons an option to continually rising costs. The stamp is good for sending 1-ounce, first-class mail through the postal system anytime in the future, regardless of price changes. "If the price goes up again and you still have them, they're still good," assures Jessie Gonzalez from the Lackland post office. "Someone with a lot of mailing can really make out (with these stamps)." (USAF photo by April Blumer)
