Lackland Air Force Base, Texas –
An eight-week challenge recently pitted two teams of fitness center staff members against one another in a bid to improve the overall fitness of the teams. This is their thoughts to date.
Halfway through! How are you feeling about the challenge? Do you feel your fitness has improved?
Osmar Alaniz - Blue Team
It does not seem like we are already halfway on our Fitness Challenge. I must say, personally I feel so much more energy all around. Physically and mentally the improvements are there.
Jacqueline Dernst-Woodward - Blue Team
The time is going by fast, but I can definitely see a change already. I feel that my overall flexibility has improved and my endurance during excising as increased as well. I feel really good about the results so far.
Paul Seay - Blue Team
I am confident that if I continue working out, there will be growth and improvement in some areas.
James Cormier-Johnson - Blue Team
I have been able to realize my fitness goals and then some! I feel very confident about my health and overall physical fitness.
Rich Brown - Blue Team
The Fitness Challenge has motivated me to strive for improvement, reach an obtainable fitness level, and maintain it.
Scott Lambaria - Blue Team
It has improved, and I'm feeling I can push harder for more positive results.
Steve Reichert - Red Team
I feel good. I have been taking some of the new group exercise classes we offer and it has been helping me improve my cardiovascular fitness level dramatically.
Amy Jackson - Red Team
I feel wonderful about the Fitness challenge. I feel it a wonderful experience and I have gained a lot of knowledge about being and staying fit. I do however; feel it is difficult to discipline myself to stay working out and eating healthy.
Mike Duke - Red Team
I am feeling very good about the challenge. When you know other people are going through things with you and depending on you, it helps give you extra motivation. No one wants to let friends down. My fitness has improved since the start of the challenge, and will continue to improve after.
