Fitness Challenge: Week 6

An eight-week challenge recently pitted two teams of fitness center staff members against one another in a bid to improve the overall fitness of the teams. This is their thoughts to date.

How has this challenge improved your life?

Matt Malenic - Blue Team
It has made aware of physical fitness, and what exactly it means to be fit. I find myself wanting to workout more often. I'm pushing myself much harder than ever before. My life is better.

James Johnson - Blue Team
It has improved my physical and mental health. I'm more conscious of the food I eat, as well as how much I eat. Overall I'm a healthier individual and have been able to meet all the fitness goals I set for this challenge.

Rich Brown - Blue Team
It has given me reassurance of how important being fit is to a healthy lifestyle. I felt good prior to this challenge. Now it gets better and better each day. I will continue to focus on a positive lifestyle change.

Jim Wood - Blue Team
This fitness challenge has given me back my life. I feel better than I have in five years or so. I am rededicated to my health and mental wellbeing. The one person I love and respect the most has noticed the changes in me, both inside and out. I can't begin to tell you how much better I feel about myself and who I am. It really is amazing. I can't thank Steve Reichert enough for coming up with the idea. And I can't thank my special person enough for showing up every day and working-out with me. It has brought us closer than we have been in many years. We should have done this years ago.

Colleen Au - Blue Team
A couple of months ago I was still trying to transition into the fitness world and I didn't feel physically fit at all. It was an awkward feeling trying to get used to working out, but I finally got the hang of it. Now I feel more confident about going into the gym and getting in a good workout without feeling nervous about the other person beside me lifting more weights. I still hope that I can continue this lifestyle without the competition to motivate me.

Patricia Arroyo - Red Team
This challenged improved my life because it has given me more confidence and helped me to improve my fitness.

Steve Reichert - Red Team
This challenge has refueled my commitment to fitness. My training and nutrition was becoming stagnant, but this challenge served as the catalyst to refocus my energy and give me a goal.

Amy Jackson - Red Team
The challenge has improved my life drastically. It has improved my overall health and the way I feel. It has encouraged me to start eating healthier and exercise more frequently.

Antoinette Durden - Red Team
This challenge has improved my life because I am more aware of what is good for my body, nutrition wise.

Dave Craig - Red Team
It has helped me to re-evaluate my lifestyle and to give my health and fitness a higher priority.

Shashank Gokhale - Red Team
It has made me pay more attention to my health and has increased my awareness of how health can affect things like discipline, sleeping patterns, food habits, alertness, and your outlook on life in general.

Desiree Gonzales - Red Team
This challenge was not much of a challenge for me. It was more of a "maintain what I have." I try to motivate others, so it's changing my life in that aspect.

Ken Hack - Red Team
This challenge has jumped started me again, holding me accountable with my workouts and eating habits.
