RANDOLPH AIR FORCE BASE, Texas –
With a week remaining in this year's Combined Federal Campaign, representatives from all of Team Randolph's units are making a final push to solicit enough pledges to eclipse last year's total of nearly $1,020,000.
The base total as of Oct. 11 exceeded $765,000.
"Team Randolph has collectively raised almost three-quarters of last year's amount," said Maj. Joey Dible, CFC project officer. "We have been working steadily processing pledge cards and distributing incentive gifts to donors. I have realized first hand how every little bit helps."
The final push includes a fund-raising effort at the CFC Burger Burn on Oct. 26, the last day of the campaign.
The Burger Burn will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the commissary parking lot. A lunch plate with a hamburger, chips and a drink will be sold for $5 each, and proceeds will benefit the CFC.
The Combined Federal Campaign is an annual fund-raising effort that gives servicemembers and federal and postal employees a chance to contribute to a charitable organization of their choice. The agencies support human health and welfare.
Last year, 54.5 percent of Team Randolph members contributed $1,019,528 to the CFC, a 4.8 percent increase over 2005's total.
Team Randolph units are continuing to work toward their goals with totals on Oct. 11 reaching 84 percent for Headquarters Air Education and Training Command, 63 percent for the 12th Flying Training Wing, 57 percent for the Air Force Personnel Center, 164 percent for Air Force Manpower Agency, 248 percent for Air Force Recruiting Service, and 114 percent for Headquarters 19th Air Force.
Contributions to the nearly 2,000 charitable agencies prescreened for the campaign can be made through payroll deduction.
"At this time, we are focusing on our progress toward our goals, garnering more support and using all available resources," said Major Dible. "With only one week left, now is the time for everyone to make their decisions and turn their pledge cards in to unit CFC representatives."
