RANDOLPH AIR FORCE BASE, Texas –
Team Randolph's Equal Employment Opportunity and Military Equal Opportunity offices have merged as part of the Program Budget Decision 720 initiative.
The offices are preparing for an Air Force-wide, January 2008, merger which will create a more capable and stronger workforce able to handle both military and civilian grievances. Once combined, the civilian and military equal opportunity team will simply be called Equal Opportunity.
Currently, all EO offices throughout the Air Force are going through training to become familiar with each other's multi-faceted programs.
Numerous benefits are created as a result of the merger. The staff will be capable of serving both military and civilian members and additional staff members will be available to conduct training and serve as alternative dispute resolution program mediators.
Historically, MEO conducted all training for the community, including civilian employees. Now, additional members will be added to the staff to assist with training and the Alternative Dispute Program. As ADR mediators/facilitators, the office's goal is to help any Team Randolph member, military or civilian, reach a positive resolution.
As a merged office, Equal Opportunity goals include combining complaint management processing, maintaining an efficient, fair and impartial complaint resolution process, and maintaining a responsive and legally compliant EO program.
As the Air Force continually works to transform to a leaner, more efficient force, the EO community strives to develop more effective ways to proactively support all internal and external customers.
