'Mugsy Sent Me!' ready for showtime

By Shannon Carabajal 37th Training Wing Public Affairs

The Lackland Performing Arts Group has been busy over the last couple of months preparing for their production of "Mugsy Sent Me!" set for Aug. 15 at the Arnold Hall Community Center Ballroom.

According to LPAG Vice President, Staff Sgt. Sandra Schmidt, "Musgy Sent Me!" is an interactive play about the 1920's prohibition.

"It's going to be exciting," Sergeant Schmidt said. "We try to get the community involved and provide Lackland with some good clean fun."

The LPAG promotes theater arts while developing personal skills and knowledge in theater.

Sergeant Schmidt, who has been with the LPAG for approximately a year, said the interactive production allows the audience to mingle with cast while participating in the play. "There will be live music and the audience will even be able to swing dance," she said.

Show dates are Aug. 15 and 16 at 7 p.m. at the Arnold Hall Community Center Ballroom. There will be light hors d'oeuvres and a pay-as-you-go bar. Tickets are $10 and reservations are required. For tickets, call the Arnold Hall Community Center at 671-2619 or 2352.
