RANDOLPH AIR FORCE BASE, Texas –
The Airman and Family Readiness Flight's Web site for Air Force family members has received a significant facelift in an effort to provide another outlet for their programs and provide families with information that may not be available elsewhere on the World Wide Web.
The new interface lets surfers view upcoming A&FRF event calendars, check out the latest military news, explore military-friendly links, learn about the programs offered at the Airman and Family Readiness Center and review base emergency information.
"About eight years ago, we needed to get out information to the public on the possibility of an oil leak in our base water supply, but no one could access any .mil or .gov Web sites at the time," said Master Sgt. Todd Remington, 12th Mission Support Squadron A&FRF. "Having this new capability can greatly increase our options to notify our family members in the event of an emergency."
Further, family members can't view A&FRF programs through the Air Force Portal like Defense Department civilian and Airmen, he said.
"This site will inform those who can't access the Portal about their benefits and how to take advantage of them," Sergeant Remington said. "It's a very user-friendly place for everyone to use."
