101 Critical Days of Summer begin today with wing run, safety briefings

The "101 Critical Days of Summer" safety campaign kicks off this morning with a motivational talk from the 12th Flying Training Wing commander, a 1.5-mile wing run and breakfast and safety briefings for all groups featuring a guest safety trainer. 

Briefings will be held for the 12th FTW's operations, maintenance, mission support and medical groups at different times throughout the day. 

Today's schedule:

6:30 a.m. - Wing Airmen will show on the flightline near Hangar 4. Airmen needing to drop off children at the Childhood Development Center should be in place ready for the run by 7 a.m.
7:05-7:30 a.m. - Wing 1.5-mile run
7:30 a.m. - Breakfast
8-9:15 a.m.- 12th Operations Group flight safety briefing and commander's call
9:35-11 a.m. - 12th Maintenance Group briefing on flightline issues, recent F-18 mishap and flightline driving briefing
11:20-12:20 a.m. - 12th Mission Support Group briefing and commander's call
12:40-1:25 p.m. - 12th Medical Group briefing and commander's call 

Maj. Bill Dorsey, 101 CDOS project officer, said use of the shuttle buses is highly encouraged because parking near Hangar 4 is limited. 

Shuttle schedule:

6:35 a.m. - Randolph Clinic pick up and drop off at Hangar 4
6:35 a.m. - Hangar 63 (12th OG) pick up and drop off at Hangar 4
7:30 a.m. - Hangar 4 pick up and drop off at Randolph Clinic
7:30 a.m. - Hangar 4 pick up and drop off at Hangar 63 (OG Building)
12:30 p.m. - Randolph Clinic pick up and drop off at Hangar 4
1:30 p.m. - Hangar 4 pick up and drop off at Randolph Clinic 

The major also said the wear of squadron T-shirts is encouraged. 

"Also, bring bottled water," he said. "There will be no air conditioning in Hangar 4 and it will be packed and very warm."
