RANDOLPH AIR FORCE BASE, Texas –
The Airman and Family Readiness Center offers many services that are detailed on their official Web site located at www.randolphfamilies.com.
According to the site, the A&FRF "helps individuals and families enhance their quality of life, and supports commanders as the focal point for issues important to [military] families."
The official Web site provides current information on each of the A&FRF services.
On the site, one can find out about the employment services, information and referral services, volunteer opportunities, relocation assistance programs, family readiness programs, personal financial management services and transition assistance programs provided by the A&FRF.
For instance, the family and personal readiness services offered through the A&FRF include the 'Hearts Apart' program and the 'Give Parents a Break' program. The 'Hearts Apart' program allows military spouses to make one free 15-minute call per week directly to a TDY/remote member, from their own home and the 'Give Parents a Break' program entitles spouses to free childcare once a month at the CDC or the Youth Center, depending on the age of the child.
The mission of the A&FRF Web site is to "contribute to the understanding of: how to adjust to a new community, volunteering, personal and family readiness, transition to civilian life, employment search skills and career development, how to access on and off base services, relocation planning and preparation, managing your finances, and developing effective family relationship skills."
The current monthly calendar for the A&FRF is also provided on the Web site. This calendar includes all of the programs offered through the A&FRF. For instance, one can see when newcomers' orientation, San Antonio city tours, resume writing workshops or home school meetings are scheduled by viewing the calendar.
