JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-RANDOLPH –
The 479th Flying Training Group earned a "Satisfactory" grade on their 2011 Combined Unit Inspection, or CUI, Dec. 6-9.
A team of higher headquarters inspectors visited the 479th FTG, located at Naval Air Station Pensacola, to review every functional discipline executed by the group.
"The grade is a reflection of incredible work, long hours and great diligence in their inspection preparation and in the standing up of the U.S Air Force's only Combat Systems Officer program over the course of the last two years," said Col. Richard Murphy, 12th Flying Training Wing commander. "I am so proud of each member of the 479th and their accomplishments."
The group's CUI included three separate inspections, the Unit Compliance Inspection, and Aircrew Standardization and Evaluation Visit and a Logistics Compliance Assessment Program.
"The men and women of the 479th Flying Training Group continue to uphold the 12th Flying Training Wing's tradition of excellence," said Col. Neil Allen, 479th FTG commander.
"Our CUI success reflects very hard work across the wing and group. It also reinforces that our program, while young, is robust and accomplishing the goals that our Air Force senior leadership has set for us - to graduate world-class Combat Systems Officers," he said. "We appreciate the support and confidence to showcase our program. I could not be prouder of my team."
