JBSA hosts National Police Week events May 12-16

502nd Air Base Wing Public Affairs

National Police Week pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others.

National Police Week dates back to 1962, when President John F. Kennedy proclaimed May 15 as National Peace Officers Memorial Day. That same year, Congress established by joint resolution the week in which May 15 falls as National Police Week.

A variety of events are planned throughout Joint Base San Antonio and are open to anyone with base access.
