AFIMSC Portrait: Sharita Figueroa

Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center Public Affairs

Sharita Figueroa has a passion for life and people she infuses in her daily mission to build an inclusive work environment at the Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center.

As the equal employment opportunity engagement officer in AFIMSC’s Manpower and Personnel Directorate, she is the Center’s primary adviser on organizational culture, inclusive leadership and barriers to equal opportunity.

Sharita said her work fosters continuous collaboration, development opportunities, enhanced communication and a sense of community.

“I get the opportunity to build a happy, respectful and loving AFIMSC family,” she said. “My position as EEO engagement officer was really meant for me. I couldn’t be happier than in this job where I can create avenues for connectedness despite our differences.”

Besides marrying her soulmate and having children, one of her proudest personal moments was earning the rank of chief master sergeant in the Air Force. In her free time, she is passionate about volunteering in the community and providing positive affirmation to her children, co-workers and friends.

“Positivity can be infectious. It has the power to uplift spirits, nurture one’s mindset, bring in love and build resilience,” Sharita said. “It gives me pure gratification to spread positivity in all encounters – no matter big or small.”
