Ask Away, JBSA! What to do in San Antonio

502nd Air Base Wing Public Affairs

Hey there, everyone! My name is Logan Steele, and we're here with another Ask Away JBSA.

We've had a lot of our service members ask what there is to do here in San Antonio, so we decided to come out here today and get you some answers.

  • San Antonio is a great place with many different events happening all the time. Every weekend, there's always something going on. I love to go downtown, especially to the Riverwalk. I love the history; it's pretty good. The food here is very diverse, which is cool.
  • What I like to do in San Antonio is try new cuisine. There are many different cultures in the city. There are a lot of local dog parks if you have pets. Biking from the Alamo to all of the different missions is great. I really love all the missions and biking along the trails.
  • Things I like to do in San Antonio include visiting the amusement parks and the Riverwalk. There are a lot of restaurants on the Riverwalk that have really good food. I love that there is such a fantastic theater scene here in San Antonio, with all kinds of different cultures, and a lot of that gets showcased through the food around here. It's a nice little melting pot.
  • I think one of the most special things about San Antonio is that it does have a small-town feel, even though we're in such a large city. I love the mix of a large military presence with the local Texas vibe. The local community is very welcoming to the military, and we enjoy participating in all the local festivities and celebrations.

You heard it here, folks! San Antonio is a big city with a lot to offer. I know I'm excited to check out a few of the spots that were mentioned. If you think we missed some places, let us know in the comments. Thanks for watching another episode of Ask Away JBSA. We'll see you next time!
