Security Forces hold 24-hour ruck march, candlelight vigil for National Police Week

By Brian Boisvert 502nd Air Base Wing Public Affairs

Members of the 802nd Security Forces Squadron and 343rd Training Squadron held a 24-hour ruck march and candlelight vigil in observation of National Police Week at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas, on May 14, 2024.

The 343rd Training Squadron joined the 802nd SFS to ruck in remembrance of fallen defenders. Candlelit posters of defenders who lost their lives in the line of duty were lined up along the path.

This 24-hour ruck march and candlelight vigil honors Security Forces defenders who paid the ultimate price while working to protect and serve. Teams rucked in 2-hour shifts with their units to commemorate the fallen and build camaraderie with those around them.

National Police Week salutes law enforcement officers who dedicate their lives to the service of others as they work to maintain public safety.
