JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-FORT SAM HOUSTON, Texas –
The Schofield Gate at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston is currently closed due to an ongoing situation just outside the federal property line.
At approximately 12 p.m., gunshots were reportedly heard from the wooded area near Schofield Gate.
The San Antonio Police Department promptly responded to the scene for this off-base incident. There are no reports of injuries at this time.
The gate closure is a precautionary measure while the incident is being investigated. We will provide updates on the gate status and investigation as more information becomes available.
