JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-FORT SAM HOUSTON, Texas –
A Retired Military Town Hall is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 26, at the Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston Military & Family Readiness Center at 3060 Stanley Road, building 2797.
Topics will include what services are available to the retired community and their families from JBSA installations, as well as healthcare updates from Brooke Army Medical Center and the Department of Veteran Affairs.
The town hall is open to retired military members of all branches, their families, and surviving spouses. A question-and-answer session will take place at the end of the presentations by guest speakers. When people register, they can submit questions at that time.
“This event seeks to expand communications with the retired members in our community, as well as their families and surviving spouses,” said retired Army Col. Felix L. Santiago, JBSA Retired Military Members Council Co-Chair. “Questions can also be submitted after the event, as JBSA leaders look forward to addressing any concerns or feedback as to issues affecting the military retired member community.”
While pre-registration is required for in-person attendance and is limited to 150, the town hall will be broadcasted live on JBSA Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/JointBaseSanAntonio. There are still plenty of spots for in-person attendance.
Numerous organizations will have representatives and/or informational booths available at the town hall, including MWR, Defense Commissary Agency, Army & Air Force Exchange Service, Brooke Army Medical Center, ID Card office, Military & Family Readiness Center, JBSA Legal Office, TRICARE, Texas Veterans Commission, Department of Veteran Affairs, and many more.
