JBSA First Sergeant Diamond Sharp Awards

The Diamond Sharp Award is sponsored by the Joint Base San Antonio First Sergeants Council and recognizes outstanding Airmen who continually exceed the standard to meet the Air Force mission.

Tech. Sgt. Ian M. Femiak
RANK/NAME: Tech. Sgt. Ian M. Femiak
UNIT: 59th Radiology Squadron
DUTY TITLE: MRI Technologist
Tech. Sgt. Ian M. Femiak provided two weeks of first sergeant/flight chief coverage for 122 personnel. He corrected two quality-of-life issues to address dormitory standards to foster a safe environment for 26 residents and provided debt repayment tips to Airmen. He excelled as an assistant MRI course supervisor for the Defense Health Agency’s sole MRI training program. After 400 program hours, he graduated four Air Force re-trainees, fueling a class average of 96%, including the course's first and only Navy graduate, upping career field manning to 91%.

DUTY TITLE: MEAR Electrical Supervisor
Tech. Sgt. Angel R. Leon volunteered with a host-wing civil engineering emergency effort and drove a 10-member team to restore electricity to JBSA-Canyon Lake Recreation Park, saving $30,000 and securing Memorial Day Weekend activities for 100,000 JBSA patrons. Leon also volunteered 61 hours for the Red Cross Disaster Action Team responding to a house fire as a bilingual ambassador and providing the home with emotional and financial support to begin the process of recovery.

DUTY TITLE: PME Instructor
Tech. Sgt. Lashuna M. Madison led the JBSA first quarter NCO Professional Enhancement Seminar, fusing 20 joint service NCO/senior NCO/SELs and first sergeants to deliver a three-day course. She advanced the supervisory skills of 25 NCOs, to build a resilient Joint Force for 10 Air Force Specialty Codes. While pursuing her master's degree in human performance, she guided 20 Department of Defense members on readiness. Using Sparta Science technology, she fused modern industrial strategy to benefit 12 Airmen and one Sailor from seven installations.

DUTY TITLE: NCOIC, Standardization and Evaluation
Tech. Sgt. Ruta McAlister organized an 18-hour unit visitation to Big Safari Det. 1, located in Waco, Texas. She engaged 18 total force mission partners and coordinated a 12-hour retreat, aimed at fostering unit cohesion for 35 Total Force Air Force personnel. She orchestrated five senior NCO panels and collaborated with six senior leaders across JBSA, which led to 142 service students attending four hours of Comprehensive Airmen Fitness training. Her actions equipped 11 combatant commanders with a mission-ready force.

DUTY TITLE: Donor Center Technician
Staff Sgt. Justin J. Hart secured JBSA-Lackland by notifying Security Forces after being approached by an intoxicated and unauthorized civilian near the Gateway Club. He safely monitored the individual until Security Forces detained them for multiple offenses. Hart's 13-member team promoted 12 mobile blood drives across the San Antonio Market, recruiting 310 donors. His actions generated life-saving support for 45 areas of responsibility across seven combatant commands.

DUTY TITLE: Medical Technician, Post-Anesthesia Care Unit
Senior Airman Stephanie Arellano led the flight's morale committee, where she designed, collected funds, and ordered and distributed hospital-approved jackets for wear with scrubs, leading to increased morale and quality of life for 40 staff members. She led seven Airman Leadership School group study sessions, facilitating a 100% passing rate for five out of five assignments for 13 flight members and earning 10 college credits for course completion toward a bachelor of science in nursing.

Senior Airman Alexandra M. Casas

UNIT: 802nd Security Forces Squadron
DUTY TITLE: Security Technician
Senior Airman Alexandra M. Casas executed Air Education and Training Command Talent Preservation Surveys by hosting five sessions across three units with 75 participants. She aggregated the data to present CC's out briefs, tools to break inclusive barriers, and major command insight on trends identified. Casas completed her criminal justice Community College of the Air Force degree. She utilized the skills gained to collate crime statistics for three universities to improve campus safety and mentored students, resulting in one entering the Air Force Delayed Entry Program.

DUTY TITLE: Religious Affairs Airman
Senior Airman Paije J. Gregory led two resiliency briefs for 1,100 Basic Military Training recruits. Her actions equipped two BMT training squadrons with information on available chaplain resources, ensuring rapid spiritual triage and accessibility to 19 worship services. As lead project officer for the chapel beautification project, she epitomized Multi-Capable Airmanship by commissioning nine murals and securing 18 volunteers. She planned a 98-hour MWR volunteer opportunity for the high-risk trainee population.

UNIT: 59th Medical Support Squadron
DUTY TITLE: Outpatient Records Technician
Airman 1st Class Marecriss S. Congress led six personnel teams for 36 volunteer service hours in a school beautification project, saving the school in landscaping expenses and bolstering Air Force community involvement. Congress responded to an Airman in need, aiding in the support and coordination of dormitory relocation efforts, and bolstering quality of life for one co-worker.

UNIT: 802nd Security Forces Squadron
DUTY TITLE: Installation Access Controller
Airman 1st Class Donald McCutcheon organized a flight going away and morale event, raising $342 for going gifts, honoring two PCSing members for their flight contribution, resulting in increased esprit de corps for 57 flight personnel, families and friends. He also led four Airmen in Duty Position Evaluation training, facilitating 26 hours of on-the-job training and practical exercises, resulting in an average score of 91% with a 100% pass rate, increasing flight certifications, post rotations and morale.
