The Air Force Civil Engineer Center Geospatial Integration Office invites Airmen, Guardians, civil engineering staff, and geospatial professionals to attend Compass 2023 from April 11-14, 2023, at the Henry B. González Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas.
Compass 2023 is an annual educational and networking event hosted by GeoBase that brings together Airmen, Guardians, civil engineering staff, and geospatial professionals for a week of learning and sharing geospatial solutions.
The event offers the geospatial community and stakeholders within the Department of the Air Force the opportunity to participate in and learn about the most recent Geospatial Information and Service, or GI&S, initiatives. This event provides training for geospatial applications, resource sharing, best practices for our rapidly advancing geospatial capabilities, and mission-relevant skill development.
Compass 2023 is an event curated by the AFCEC GIO that emphasizes the use of cutting-edge tools and technology and encourages participation through learning and networking opportunities. It supports our Installation's mission and maximizes our GI&S resources by leveraging the increasing power and accessibility of GI&S as a result of rapid advancements in capabilities and technology.
Geospatial engineers will demonstrate cutting-edge GI&S tools and provide numerous opportunities for learning and networking.
The theme for this year’s event is “Geospatial Engineers – Delivering Ground Truth” and provides contributors with an opportunity to showcase successful projects, challenges faced, and deeper insights gained from collecting and delivering ground truth data. Each abstract and presentation should be committed to and focused on this specific theme.
