Gas leak on JBSA-Chapman Training Annex
JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-LACKLAND, Texas – At 8:29 a.m., today, Joint Base San Antonio Fire Emergency Services personnel responded to a natural gas leak on the Chapman Training Annex at JBSA-Lackland.
A construction worker cut the underground gas line during excavation work that was part of ongoing Forbes Hall renovations.
Officials immediately evacuated all personnel from the affected building. All personnel are accounted for.
No injuries and no property damage beyond the gas line have been reported.
CPS Energy responded to shut off the gas supply and repair the line.
Once the gas was shut off and the building was safe, occupants returned to the facility.
CPS restored gas service at approximately 3 p.m.
