Changes to official, unofficial foreign visit request procedures coming Jan. 1

By John E. Gutierrez, JBSA Access Control and Foreign Disclosure Manager 502nd Security Forces Group

In the effort to streamline all foreign visit requests across Joint Base San Antonio, starting Jan. 1, 2023, requestors will no longer be required to submit their foreign visitor requests through the Foreign Disclosure Office.

After that date, all foreign visit requests will be submitted directly to the appropriate JBSA Visitor Control Center, or VCC.  All email submittals must be via a “.mil” email address only and VCCs will not accept any other type of email platform, such as Yahoo, Google, etc. Hand-carried requests will also be accepted.

All official foreign visits via Invitational Travel Orders (ITO) or Foreign Visit Requests (FVR) will be processed at the appropriate VCC location where access is being requested.  All official foreign visit requests will not be required to be processed via the 502nd Security Forces Group Foreign Disclosure Office.

All unofficial foreign visits (contractors, family, friends, etc.) will be processed at the appropriate VCC location where access is being requested. All unofficial foreign visit requests will also not be required to be processed via the 502nd SFG Foreign Disclosure Office.
