DOD ID cardholders can host students in tech training on Thanksgiving Day

By C Arce 37th Training Wing Public Affairs

For the sixth year, Operation Family Feast is giving community members the chance to celebrate their Thanksgiving Day with students in technical training across Joint Base San Antonio.

Host families, who must be a Department of Defense ID cardholder, can host two or four students and will need to pick them up between 10 to 11 a.m. and drop them off at their dorms by 9 p.m.

The pick-up location is at the Bob Hope Theater, 1560 Stewart St., building 5408, JBSA-Lackland, Texas 78236.

Operation Family Feast is not the same event as Operation Home Cooking. Operation Family Feast is for students in technical training and Operation Home Cooking is for Airmen in Basic Military Training.

Additionally, families who host Airmen in BMT may not host students in technical training. It is against the 37th Training Wing policy for BMT and tech training Airmen to co-mingle.

The deadline to sign up is Nov. 18. Fill out the Google form at https://forms.gle/xwp2M6WxDnYHoBEu8
