JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-FORT SAM HOUSTON, Texas –
The section of the road between the Walters Gate and I-35 near Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston will undergo resurfacing from Monday, July 18, to Wednesday, July 20. It is strongly recommended that motorists use alternate gates for their convenience and for the safety of Security Forces and the construction crews.
MONDAY, JULY 18
- WALTERS Gate will be CLOSED to OUTBOUND traffic; JBSA personnel will not be able to exit the installation via Walters Gate.
- WILSON Gate (to Cunningham Road/Broadway/281) will open to outbound traffic only from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m.
- The inbound lanes of Walters Gate will operate normally.
- The outbound lanes of Harry Wurzbach East Gate are available for larger vehicles.
TUESDAY – WEDNESDAY, JULY 19-20
- Walters Gate will operate normally for both inbound and outbound traffic, but expect significant delays getting on the installation due to Walters Street lane closures while approaching the gate from I-35.
- Wilson Gate will be closed.
The New Braunfels, Schofield, Jadwin commercial, Harry Wurzbach East, Winans, and BAMC gates will operate normally. Full gate hours are available at https://www.jbsa.mil/Gate-Hours/
