Akeroyd Blood Donor Center in urgent need of blood donors

There is a critical shortage of blood products right now and the Akeroyd Blood Donor Center needs donors immediately.

All blood types are needed, and donations of whole blood, plasma and platelets are welcome.

The Akeroyd Blood Center is located at 1240 Harney St. at Joint Base San Antonio-Foret Sam Houston. The center accepts whole blood from 4:30 to 10 a.m. on weekdays.

If interested in donating plasma or platelets, please call 210-295-4655 to schedule. Due to additional screening requirements, those appointments cannot be made online.
