JBSA News

Due to an increase in cases, the WHASC is conducting a drive-through COVID-19 testing available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on the first floor of the parking garage. Since the testing site uses the polymerase chain reaction tests, the results are available to patients through TRICARE Online within 24 to 72 hours.

Since the arrival of the Pfizer vaccine to Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center on Dec. 14, 2020, more than 50 nurses and medical technicians have volunteered to administer the vaccine.

JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO, Texas –

The following are Veterans Day weekend closures for Joint Base San Antonio's COVID-19 screening/testing sites:

The Brooke Army Medical Center site will be closed Nov. 11-14, and will reopen Monday, Nov. 15 at 8 a.m.
Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center, JBSA-Lackland’s site, will be closed Nov. 11, and open Nov. 12 from 8-10 a.m.

Both sites will resume normal hours of operation Nov. 15. For screening/testing site locations and hours of operation, visit https://bamc.tricare.mil/Health-Services/Preventive-Care/Immunizations/COVID-19-Vaccine-Availability

The following are Veteran’s Day weekend closures for JBSA’s COVID-19 vaccine sites:

BAMC vaccination site: closed Nov. 11-14
WHASC vaccination site: closed Nov. 11, but open Nov. 12.

As a reminder, BAMC and WHASC offer the Pfizer vaccine to all Department of Defense beneficiaries ages 12 and older. Beneficiaries can make a same-day appointment on TRICARE Online or by calling the appointment line at 210-916-9900.
