JBSA identifies deceased service member

Officials have identified a Joint Base San Antonio service member who died Oct. 3 in Corpus Christi.

Air National Guard Master Sgt. Jake Trevino, 41, died from health complications at a Corpus Christi hospital.

Trevino was a security forces noncommissioned officer with the 149th Fighter Wing serving an active duty assignment with the 502nd Security Forces Group at JBSA-Randolph.

“We were all greatly saddened to learn of Jake’s death,” said Col. James Masoner, the 502nd Security Forces Group commander. “He was a true professional and a valuable member of our team – he will be missed.”

The incident is under investigation.

Trevino’s awards and decorations include the Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal and Air Reserve Forces Meritorious Service Medal as well as the Air Force Outstanding Unit and Organizational Excellence Awards.
