JBSA transitions to HPCON BRAVO+

By Brig. Gen. Caroline M. Miller 502d Air Base Wing Commander

With confirmed COVID cases and symptoms increasing across the nation and Department of Defense, Joint Base San Antonio will transition to HPCON BRAVO+.

The main intent of Health Protection Condition BRAVO+ is to reemphasize health protection measures on the installation and our workspaces, to include: physical distancing, wearing a mask, proper handwashing and seeking medical attention if you feel sick.

I also want commanders and supervisors to balance telework and mixed manning schedules as your office deems appropriate to accomplish the mission. Please read my guidance memo for more details attached at JBSA Commander Guidance Memorandum #36.

Though statistically small, JBSA has experienced a slight increase in reported cases and symptoms here over the past few days.

Chief Snider and I want to posture the installation to better protect and respond during these dynamic times.

The JBSA community will still have access to base; as well as, we will still expand services in a phased, slow and intentional manner after properly assessing the local situation and seeking recommendations from our public health experts.

If you have questions or concerns, please submit through Feedback Fridays at jbsapublicaffairs@gmail.com, and the JBSA commander will see and action them.

Also, please visit www.jbsa.mil/coronavirus/ for updates, and under the Facilities and Services Statuses tab, you will find more detailed info on services currently provided on the installation.
