Joint Base San Antonio seeks public input on environmental community outreach

By 502nd Air Base Wing Public Affairs 502nd Air Base Wing Public Affairs

Joint Base San Antonio officials are seeking community feedback regarding its environmental program. People are invited to participate in a survey until July 7 to provide information on public concerns and preferred ways for base officials to communicate with the public about its environmental cleanup efforts.

Feedback gathered from community leaders, elected officials and the community at large will be incorporated into a Community Involvement Plan and will assist Joint Base San Antonio in developing effective and appropriate ways to inform and engage the public.

A Community Involvement Plan is a public document that will specify the outreach activities that base officials will use to address community concerns and expectations regarding cleanup. The JBSA environmental restoration program is responsible for cleaning up contamination from past operations at JBSA-Lackland, JBSA-Randolph, JBSA-Fort Sam Houston and JBSA-Camp Bullis.

There are three ways to participate in the community survey: in person, by phone, or online. To schedule an in-person or phone interview, call 210-988-6033 or email JBSACommunity@ageiss-inc.com. The online questionnaire can be completed at http://www.surveymonkey.com/r/JBSACIP and closes July 7.
