JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-RANDOLPH, Texas - Staff Sgt. Michael Arumugam, assistant noncommissioned officer-in-charge at the Air Force Personnel Center, stood at attention to recite the NCO Creed during a junior noncommissioned officer ceremony held at the Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph Parr Club, Jan. 31, 2025. During the event, he was presented with his selection certification to the rank of staff sergeant. The junior noncommissioned officer ceremony represents a significant milestone in an enlisted Airman's career — their transition from senior Airman to the staff sergeant rank. The promotion signifies how these Airmen are now trusted to lead, train and mentor other Airmen. The newly appointed NCOs are required to stand at attention during various portions of the ceremony to recite the NCO creed and the presentation of the colors (U.S. Air Force photo by Ava Leone)
