5th FTS welcomes new commander

VANCE AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. - Col. Amy Lewis (left), 340th Flying Training Group commander, presents the 5th Flying Training Squadron command guidon to Lt. Col. Christina Hopper, 5th FTS commander, during the squadron's change of command ceremony at Vance Air Force Base, Okla., on Apr. 18, 2024. As a command pilot who has flown more than 50 combat missions throughout Operations Southern Watch and Iraqi Freedom, Hopper is now responsible for the execution of the Air Education and Training Command / Air Force Reserve Command Associate Instructor Program at Vance, supporting 71st Flying Training Wing operations, conducting nearly 9,000 sorties annually.
