firefighter starts prescribed burn

TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. - A prescribed burn expert from the Cheyenne Arapaho Tribes Fire Management team starts a late-May burn at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma. The burn marked the first activation of a new partnership between the Air Force Civil Engineer Center’s Wildland Fire Branch and the tribes’ fire management team. The new partnership leverages the tribes’ vast local knowledge to build a better prescribed burn program and is one of hundreds of tribal partnerships that support and improve Department of the Air Force operations every year.
