Two schoolchildren pose with the new backpacks they picked up at the Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland Military & Family Readiness Center. The backpacks were donated through the Build-A-Backpack Program, which provides backpacks and school supplies for schoolchildren of military families, including active-duty and wounded service members and Guard and Reserve personnel. This year the program provided backpacks for 1,420 JBSA schoolchildren. The program is sponsored by the JBSA Military Education Program-School Liaison Office. The donated backpacks are provided by JBSA members.
