Petty Officer 1st Class Michael Garcia, a Basic Medical Technician Corpsman program instructor at the at the Medical Education and Training Campus, demonstrates how high-tech human-patient, high-fidelity mannequins, or SimMan, are used to train Navy and Air Force students to participants in the CENTCOM Theater Medical Conference during a tour of the Nurse Synthesis Laboratory. The SimMan helps students evaluate and assess “patients”, and apply the skills they have learned to provide appropriate care.  The BMTC course is a consolidated Air Force and Navy entry-level course that trains students to become Air Force medical technicians and Navy hospital corpsmen.
