Recipients of the African American Heritage Committee scholarships pictured with retired Lt. Gen. John Hopper, the guest speaker for the AAHC Scholarship Banquet on Feb. 22, are (from left) Joseph S. Roberts, Christopher E. Starks, Phillip Guadiano II and Aaron Scott III. Mr. Roberts of John Marshall H.S. was the 2nd place winner and received a $1,250 scholarship award. He plans to attend Houston Baptist University. Mr. Starks of Earl Warren H.S. was the 1st place winner and received a $2,000 scholarship award. He plans to attend Texas A&M University. Mr.Guadiano of Sandra Day O'Conner H.S. was the 3rd place winner and received a $750 scholarship award. He plans to attend Texas A&M University.
