The F-16 "Viper East Demo" Team performs its Heritage Flight during the 2011 Randolph Air Force Base Airshow Oct. 29. The F-16 Fighting Falcon, more commonly known to military pilots as the Viper, is a compact, extremely maneuverable multi-role fighter aircraft. The F-16 has proven itself in air-to-air combat as well as air-to-surface attack. Air shows are an important recruiting tool for the Air Force, and an opportunity for the Air Force to offer a glimpse into some of the Air Force jobs available. Events like this also showcase today's Air Force people, equipment and technology. (U.S. Air Force photo/Joel Martinez) (released)
