Joint Base San Antonio Military & Family Readiness Centers are accepting nominations for the annual JBSA Volunteer of the Year Awards until March 15.

Nominations of individuals or groups can be submitted for the JBSA Volunteer of the Year Awards, the JBSA Volunteer Excellence Award and the President’s Volunteer Service Award. Information on the awards and award nomination instructions and forms will be posted at https://www.jbsa.mil/Resources/Military-Family-Readiness/Volunteer-Resources/ starting Jan. 1.

The presentation was made during the Volunteer of the Year Awards Ceremony at the JBSA-Fort Sam Houston Military & Family Readiness Center Oct. 28.
JBSA recognizes volunteers who go beyond the call of service for military community

An oversized check, representing the monetary value in hours given by volunteers to JBSA calculated by last year, was presented to JBSA leaders. JBSA members had volunteered a total of 342,396 hours in 2018, which came out to a monetary value of $8.4 million.
