340th Flying Training Group volunteers help make a Million Summer Meals for Kids

Christian Delgado, from the 340th Flying Training Group headquarters, help prepare sandwiches for nearly 1,000 lunches that will be provided to food insecure children in the San Antonio multi-county region. Group members volunteered July 12 to support the San Antonio Food Bank’s Million Summer Meals for Kids campaign focused on bridging the gap during the summer months, when many kids may not have regular access to food.

San Antonio recruiters, future Sailors give back to community

Petty Officer 1st Class Milton Duarte (right), a recruiter assigned to Navy Recruiting Station De Zavala, Navy Recruiting District San Antonio, and Diego Rodriguez, a future Sailor from Del Rio, Texas, volunteers at the San Antonio Food Bank during a Delay Entry Program meeting June 6.  Duarte, a 2003 graduate of South Bronx High School, joined the Navy in 2005.  Rodriguez, a 2014 graduate of Del Rio High School, will serve as an electrician’s mate in America’s Navy.

Recruiters, future Sailors, donate time to San Antonio Food Bank

Cesar Lozano, a future Sailor in the Navy Delayed Entry Program, or DEP, volunteers at the San Antonio Food Bank.  Lozano, a 2014 graduate of Veterans Memorial High School in Brownsville, participated in the bi-weekly DEP meeting hosted by Navy Recruiting Station Northeast San Antonio.  The purpose of the volunteerism was to instill the “Whole Sailor Concept”.  Lozano will attend recruit training in Great Lakes, Mich. in April with follow-on training as an aviation structural mechanic.
