Joint Base San Antonio hosts 2022 Air Force Trials March 19-27

One of the biggest changes for the Air Force Wounded Warrior (AFW2) Program this year is the updates to 2022 Air Force Trials. Normally this big event is held at Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada, but due to Covid, this year things will be different. The 2022 Air Force Trials is coming to Joint Base San Antonio, Texas March 19-27.

Working at remaining resilient during the holidays

There are many resources available for Airmen, Guardians, Veterans and their families to access if they are having a hard time coping. There are many books to read, applications to download and organizations to contact that are always available. They can also reach out to the Air Force Wounded Warrior (AFW2) Program Wellness and Resiliency team located on the AFW2 website, www.woundedwarrior.af.mil.

AFW2 expands social connections

The pandemic highlighted the need to feel more connected, as people tend to  feel isolated with various restrictions in place. Along with restrictions, warriors within the AFW2 program can sometimes already feel alone due to their trauma and recovery journey. With this challenge in mind, the Community Programs team felt the need to have wounded warriors, spouses and caregivers connect to others with similar backgrounds.

CARE event highlights continuous support for warriors, caregivers

This week more than 140 warriors and caregivers attended the Warrior CARE Event in San Antonio, Texas. This was the second time the Air Force Wounded Warrior (AFW2) Program hosted a hybrid event where people attended in-person and virtually, and to say it was a success would be an understatement.

from around the country for a hybrid CARE Event, featuring a combination of in-person and virtual attendees. The CARE event focuses on the various support programs AFW2 offers, while also providing the face-to-face interaction many of them so desperately need.

New processes happening at AFW2
